Support UNLV Formula Racing!

UNLV FORMULA RACING needs your help to complete our first-ever vehicle and compete in the 2026 Formula SAE EV Collegiate competition. Our students gain real world engineering and business experience through the design, manufacturing, and presentation of our electric vehicle.
About Us
UNLV Formula Racing (UFR) is an emerging UNLV engineering student organization with the goal of educating our students with real hands-on experience. UFR's mission is to design, build, and race a formula-style electric race car to compete in the 2026 Formula SAE EV collegiate design competition.
Our organization is structured to emulate a professional motorsports team, complete with mechanical, electrical, business & hospitality teams. Each of our teams plays a significant role in the overall success of UFR and sets up our students with opportunities to obtain valuable experience in a wide variety of fields.
The development and education of our students are our top priority, and for this reason, we strive to provide them with the best possible opportunities to showcase their talent. We provide students with career networking events such as student-industry professional breakfasts at SEMA or career fairs hosted by SAE in partnership with automotive firms. Whenever possible, we bring in guest speakers to share their knowledge and experience with our members.
Although the UFR organization is young, it’s composed of incredibly ambitious college students undertaking a trailblazing project, and upon realizing our goal, we will have designed, developed, and manufactured UNLV and Southern Nevada's first electric race car.
Your Impact
Your donations will directly support the purchase of critical components, manufacturing materials, safety equipment, tools, and other essential resources required to complete our electric car ahead of the 2026 competition. These funds offset the costs associated with testing, transportation, and competition registration, ensuring our team can present our vehicle safely and successfully.
Your generosity is more than just a donation; it is an investment in the education of our students, helping them develop real engineering, project management, and professional skills. With your support, our members are able to put their knowledge into practice.
Achievements and Notable Work
UFR has a long-standing track record of volunteering year over year. Over the 2025 spring semester alone, our members volunteered over 500+ hours. In 2024 and 2025, UFR volunteered at the FSAE EV competition in Michigan. On multiple occasions, our members volunteered at local autocross events to demonstrate our support and dedication to the motorsports community.
UFR has continuously volunteered under SAE’s A World In Motion (AWIM) program at local elementary schools in the Las Vegas valley, where our team goes into classrooms and teaches STEM-centered projects and activities. These activities provide a unique and valuable hands-on experience for elementary students to learn extensively about important physics and engineering topics.
