About UNLV SEDS

SEDS UNLV has 201 registered members who are involved in three distinct teams within the organization: the Workshop, the IREC (Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition) Team, and SRAD (Student Research and Development) Liquids. IREC is designing a competition rocket and SRAD is currently developing Nevada's second student-built liquid rocket engine.

The SRAD Liquids (SPARK II) project offers students invaluable, hands-on experience with concepts and principles in engineering with an aerospace focus--which is difficult to find elsewhere on UNLV's campus. At UNLV, there is no aerospace undergraduate engineering degree program, so SEDS UNLV is one of the only places on campus where students can immerse themselves in real-world aerospace engineering work and gain skills vital to being competitive applicants in the aerospace field.

The main goal of SEDS UNLV is to have members gain invaluable experiences, spread the name of UNLV explicitly showing that engineering students at UNLV are also able to do what big name engineering schools can do. Everyone in SEDS UNLV has a common goal which is to learn and become the best engineer that they can be. With the amount of opportunities given in the club and this project, members are able to practice the engineering process, and this gives more opportunities such as internships or lab work. I
