Celebrate 30 Years of Rebel Recycling by Expanding All in the Hall

The All in the Hall program has been the simplest and most effective change to encourage recycling on campus to date. With this initiative, trash cans are pulled out of classrooms and paired with recycling bins in central hallway stations. This requires everyone—students, faculty, staff—to walk out of the room to throw anything away. Once people are already at the bins, recycling becomes the easier choice.

Since implementing this program, the rate of diversion of trash from the landfill has gone up dramatically. It has also cut down on contamination, since the side-by-side setup makes it clearer what items belong where. For Facilities, centralized bins have translated into real savings and a reduction of the custodial workload. Due to this overwhelming success, Rebel Recycling is actively pursuing the means to expand it to other buildings on campus.

This fundraiser aims to bring All In the Hall to the
Advanced Engineering Building (AEB) and increase UNLV's diversion rate even more. To complete this project, we need 25 recycling stations, which cost $1,200 each.

25 recycling stations x $1,200 each = $30,000

Celebrate Rebel Recycling's 30-year anniversary by helping us power 30 more years of sustainability on campus. Rebels make it happen!
